(Updated 21/01/05) About the Company Theatro Oneiron was established in Adelaide, South Australia in 1990 to present the very best of modern Greek theatre in a bilingual mode, works by Greek-Australian playwrights, Greek themed works, and those of the general world repertoire in Greek. The company's current Artistic Director is co-founder Max Mastrosavas. Under his direction the company has developed a significant artistic profile nationally and internationally. The company's Vision Statement. Production History Amongst major works are The Courtyard of Miracles (in Greek and English production versions) and The Four Table Legs by legendary Greek writer Iakovos Kambanellis; The Last Performance by surrealist writer Kostoula Mitropoulou; The Nightwatchmen by Stratis Karras; Transito by Sydney-based writer Sophia Ralli-Catharios, and Cafe Cavafy, another original work researched in Adelaide, Alexandria, Athens and Cambridge. The company has staged many new works in its long history, including a modern version of Euripides' Trojan Women in 1997 for the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Glendi Greek Festival. In 1999, The Skaubryn Project, an original music drama based on the oral histories of Greek migrants, was staged as part of the Sydney Cultural Olympiad. In 2003, an adaptation of Nikos Kazantzakis' Christ Recrucified was staged as a chamber music theatre piece.
